The future ZAC Ferney-Genève Innovation will be located at the entrance to the town, in the Paimboeuf, Très-La-Grange and La Poterie sectors, covering 65 hectares of municipal territory. By 2030, the ZAC will include hotels, offices, high value-added businesses, a commercial, cultural and entertainment centre around the new Voltaire cinema, a conference, sports and wellness centre. There will also be 2500 homes and public facilities such as a crèche and a school. The project includes an innovative heating network. Thanks to a tempered loop, the heat produced by the economic activity will be stored in the ground. The aim is to use this energy to heat homes and facilities. The waste heat produced by the industrial buildings, the excess heat from the air-conditioning installations and the solar heat received on the façades and roofs will thus be reused. GEOEG has quantified the thermal energy storage potential of the geostructures of the rainwater retention basin on the Ferney Voltaire municipality.
