The Grand Paris Express recursively evaluates the feasibility of implementing geothermal solutions along the metro line. In this context, energy geostructures are optimal solutions provide renewable heating and cooling energy along the metro line, offering an additional role to the considered infrastructure.
The Paris Metro Line 15 West will extend for 22.4 km, connecting approximately 800’000 commuters over 14 districts by 2030. For this project, GEOEG has been commissioned to provide a geothermal opportunity study. The work considered technical, normative, and economic factors to spur the future integration of local and renewable geothermal energy into the tunnels and stations of the Line 15 of the Grand Paris Express.
