A supermarket chain plans to expand its portfolio of shops and plans to build a new two-storey hypermarket and associated car park in Zalău. The site involves deep excavations in the southern part and embankments in the northern part. Moreover, given the geological conditions, considered unfavourable for shallow foundations, the future hypermarket will have pile foundations. GEOEG collaborated with GreenTAGS in the context of an opportunity study and demonstrates the potential of energy sheet pile walls as a viable renewable energy source that can cover 100% of the thermal energy requirements for the building.
