Client

A new net-zero store was constructed in Evanston, Illinois, USA.
The innovative store pairs various renewable energy solutions inside the building. Photovoltaic panels and small-scale wind turbines provide electric power, while geothermal energy provides renewable heating and cooling. In the context of this project, GEOEG developed advanced numerical simulations to quantify the maximum thermal capacity and dynamic energy yield of the geothermal system over 50 years. This work proved that the geothermal borehole field serving this project can provide sufficient energy to meet 100% of the heating and cooling requirements of the building year-round.
